What information do we collect?

The only place on the website we collect data is through the booking form. We collect your name, address, email, how many are in your group, and if there are any infants. We only use this data to contact you about your booking and to identify you on arrival. We do NOT use it for marketing, polls, or surveys and we NEVER share this information.

What legal basis do we have for processing your personal data?

There are two relevant processing conditions contained within the GDPR (EU General Data Protection Regulation) which justify our holding of your data.

  • consent

By filling out our booking form you consent to us holding the relevant data. You may, after

leaving our accommodation, write to us at the address above and ask us to delete the

information with which request we will immediately comply.

  • contract

Filling out the booking form and paying the security deposit forms the basis of our contract

with each other, the terms and conditions of which are here.

When do we share personal data?

We never do.

How do we secure personal data?

  • We regularly backup our database and website, to ensure the data is not lost.
  • Our website carries a SSL certificate, which is a small data file that digitally binds a cryptographic key to our details. When installed on a web server, it activates the padlock and the https protocol and allows secure connections from a web server to a browser. In short, it means any data you submit from your browser to us is encrypted.
  • Our website is also protected by WordFence, a security plugin which protects us from being hacked. It is one of the most comprehensive security solutions available.

How long do we keep your personal data for?

We delete historical data every six months. If you would like your data to be deleted within that timescale, please write to our data controller, Duncan MacInnes (address given above) and your wish will be granted.
